10 More Blessings in Handling Finances

Last week I posted 7 blessings in handling finances based on the Bible. After a little more digging in the Word and in some Christian ministry, I found 10 more blessings that Christians can experience in dealing with their checkbook. These are for us to experience today.

1.     Serving God

“No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will hold to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon” -Matt. 6:24

2.     Giving in secret and being repaid in secret

“But you, when you give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your alms may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will repay you.” – Matt. 6:3-4

3.     Being released from money’s usurpation

“And Zaccheus stood and said to the Lord, Behold, the half of my possessions, Lord, I give to the poor, and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore four times as much.” -Luke 19:8

4.     God affording us all things richly for our enjoyment

“Charge those who are rich in the present age not to be high-minded, nor to set their hope on the uncertainty of riches but on God, who affords us all things richly for our enjoyment” -1 Tim. 6:17, cf. Phil 4:19

5.     Being more blessed in giving

“In all things I have shown you by example that toiling in this way we ought to support the weak and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.” -Acts 20:25

6.     God loving a cheerful giver

“Each one as he has purposed in his heart, not out of sorrow or out of necessity, for God loves a cheerful giver.” -2 Cor 9:6

7.     Rendering to God the things that are God’s

“Then He said to them, Render then the things that are Caesar’s to Caesar and the things that are God’s to God.” -Matt. 22:21

8.     Knowing the grace of our Lord Jesus

“For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, for your sakes He became poor in order that you, because of His poverty, might become rich.”  -2 Cor. 8:9

9.     Knowing the divine balancing of material supply

“As it is written, “He who gathered much had no excess, and he who gathered little had no lack.”” -2 Cor. 8:15

10.    Sowing for reaping the fruits of righteousness

“But take note of this: He who sows sparingly shall also sparingly reap; and he who sows with blessings shall also with blessings reap;” -2 Cor. 9:6

Finally, here are two items that are more precious than gold and silver:

The law of Your mouth is better to me than thousands of pieces of gold and silver.” -Psa. 119:72

“So that the proving of your faith, much more precious than of gold which perishes though it is proved by fire, may be foundunto praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.” -1 Pet 1:7
